The Passport Careleavers Programme

Creating opportunities for people to move on from care

Passport works with young people who are leaving care and who are at risk of offending or finding themselves homeless. Participants must live within the City of Edinburgh and be aged between 16 and 21.

This specialised service works on a one-to-one basis with young people to help them break down the barriers they face, build their self-confidence and help them aspire to become responsible citizens.

Participants are offered a carefully structured support programme that can include:

  • A range of bespoke training sessions.
  • Access to work placements in a wide range of sectors.
  • Access to employment and education opportunities.
The scheme provides many practical benefits, including enhanced employability skills and positive work references.

Entitlement benefits are not affected and transport and lunch costs are normally provided.

If you think that you could benefit from the Passport Careleaver Programme, or if you are working with someone who can, get in touch to arrange an initial information session.
