| • There are many Trusts in Great Britain who offer aid and assistance to students
in financial difficulty. The help and size of the grants they give varies. • To get money form a Trust you need to apply to them, telling them why you need help. Each Trust is different and will have its own application process. • There is no guarantee that you will get a grant from a Trust even if you fulfil their criteria as grants are made at the discretion of each Trust. |
| • Trusts may be able to help you for different reasons, depending on your circumstances and their criteria.
For example you may be able to get funds from a trust because of: - The subject/course you are studying - Your personal circumstances e.g., disability/gender - Where you live or have been brought up - Your family/parental circumstances/occupation - Your family history in education - Your own current, past occupation - A combination of the above. • A list of useful Trusts is attached (68Kb). You can download this file onto your computer by clicking on the list and following the instructions. REMEMBER: • Make sure you fulfil the Trust's basic criteria before you apply. • Check that you have obtained all possible funding from official services before approaching Trusts. • Contact the Trust initially to find out what their application procedure is. • For further tips when applying to Trusts you can download the TIPS file (28Kb) onto your computer by clicking on the Tips and following the instructions. |
