CAN I GET EXTRA MONEY?
Yes. Financial assistance is available as follows:

• Childcare: assistance with childcare is available through Edinburgh's Telford Colleges' hardship funds. In order to receive this assistance you must:
- Get a childcare application form from Edinburgh Telford College's (ETC) Support Services
- On the form you will need to state:
1. Your financial situation & details (assistance is means tested)
2. The details of the childcare cover you are applying for
3. When you require the childcare
- You will then return the application form to ETC who will process it.
- If your application is successful the money will be paid into your bank account. You will then be responsible for paying the childcare provider directly.

• Transport: Each trainee on Cultivate will receive a bus pass to allow them to reach ETC & their placement. (This only applies if you live more than 2 miles from either ETC or your placement).

• Meal allowance: Each trainee on Cultivate will receive a sum of money to put towards their meals whilst on placement.

• Personal Development Fund: There are some funds available for trainees who need to buy clothes specifically for their placement.
Funding for The Cultivate Project and training to work programmes.

DO I PAY FEES?
NO. Cultivate is free.

CAN I CLAIM BENEFITS?
Yes. Your benefits are not affected.

Cultivate will not affect your benefits as the course is part-time. (16 hours/week teaching hours + up to 5 hours unassisted learning or training).

This is the case both for the 4 week course at Edinburgh's Telford College and during the 5 month placement.
