To mark what will be the first ever Scottish Employability Day – on Thursday 10 September – our Midlothian & East Lothian Recovery Service will start a new Employability Award course that week. Kicking off on Monday 7 September, the course will run for 12 weeks and be delivered in our dedicated Hardengreen Learning Hub (pictured).
Covering three main modules – Building Employability Skills; Preparing for Employment First Steps; and Responsibilities of Employment – it aims to enhance employability skills and bolster confidence around seeking employment.
By the end of the course, participants will have covered CV writing; interview prep and practice; transferrable skills; and looking at your own skills, values and beliefs. Certification received following the course will be Qualifications Scotland Employability Award SCQF 3 or 4.
Scottish Employability Day is set to become a recurring annual event, helping to raise awareness of the important role employability services such as ourselves play in supporting people to access opportunities and achieve positive outcomes. More details are available on the Employability in Scotland website: https://www.employabilityinscotland.com/.
